First Listen: Manchester band MOLD release their debut track ‘Puppetmaster’

To truly understand the nature of which MOLD see the world we have to look to the MOLD Manifesto, which states:

MOLD IS AN ABSURDIST REACTION TO THE WORLD WE LIVE IN/
IN NATURE, IN YOUR KITCHEN, IN POLITICS, IN GUITAR MUSIC, MOLD ONLY GROWS WHEN THINGS ARE STALE AND START TO ROT
LIKE DADA AND WHATEVER THE FUCK YOU CALL CAPTAIN BEEFHEART, WE SEEK TO RE- INTERPRET OUR MEDIUM

The 3 piece are a chaotic fit of rage forced into a minimalistic style post punk riot and a joy to behold. The bands new single ‘Puppetmaster’ is an inspection into the mind control ideology of our day to day social media lives. The dark incisive lyrics form a picture of how we are being pulled on strings all through an epic post punk fight between guitar and bass riffs. The build to the aggressive chorus is pure anarchy while the outro is Fat Whites esque mayhem with every instrument seemingly fighting their way to the front of the pack.

In MOLD we have a forceful and courageous band that have, as the Manifesto suggests, grown because of the staleness of the scene; ‘Puppetmaster’ certainly paints us an aggressive anti-establishment picture which should excite us all.
