Listen: 1000 Rabbits Share Debut Single ‘Virgin Soil’ via Young

Bathing in their innate classical abilities and led fantastically by their rhythm-heavy storytelling, the first offering from Suffolk quintet, 1000 Rabbits (previously known as Rabbitfoot) instantly captures one’s imagination.

1000 Rabbits free-flowing, intense, and dynamic live performances have led them to spend the best part of 18 months establishing themselves on the UK live circuit, having gigged relentlessly in the capital and even nestled in a run of festival shows last year. Now it’s time for the band to share their first single, ‘Virgin Soil’. The new track works perfectly as a first impression, with the song based on a variety of “firsts” from the ground up; from the first sun in the morning, to first romances, to the first time playing together as a band, ‘Virgin Soil’ is a complete celebration of beginnings. Vocalist, River’s riff is built on by an instrumentation that thrives in motion, building up to a particularly impressive drum part that bashes straight at you with real intensity, all the while collectively keeping rhythm. In all of its uniqueness, ‘Virgin Soil’ feels very neatly polished but not halting 1000 Rabbits from fully exploring their forward-thinking sonic ideas.

On the track, the band say “’Virgin Soil’ represents the band’s beginnings – experimenting together and making music with no rules. It feels right as our first track out in the world.”
