Listen: Austin’s Font Share ‘Hey Kekulé’ and Announce Debut Album

Austin quintet Font share ‘Hey Kekulé’ and announce debut album ‘Strange Burden’.

The result of an attempt to mirror the Remain In Light writing processes of Brian Eno and Talking Heads, whereby layer upon groovalicious layer pile high into an irresistible, infinitely-expansive, boogie-geddon, ‘Hey Kekulé’ was this experiment’s first success. Invoking too the dance-ridden post-punk of noughties New York,  but with an added spark of experimental heat and muscle. Stabbing pianos, brawny vocals and seismic snare drums render this tune highly flammable and geared for explosion.

Inspired by a Cormac McCarthy essay about a German chemist of the same name , ‘Hey Kekulé’ is specified as something of a creative breakthrough for the group. It’s creation hit so damn hard (and boy does it hit!) that it built foundations for their forthcoming debut album ‘Strange Burden’, landing 17th July.
