Listen: Brighton’s ELLiS-D Shares New Single ‘Carousel’

Teasing you with a timid opening, ‘Carousel’ soon explodes full of movement as the latest release from ELLiS·D dips its toes into artistic glam rock, with style reminiscent of emo from its height in the noughties.

Entirely written and recorded by frontman Ellis Dickinson, the track delves into the fear and anxiety which is expertly projected by Dickinson’s hauntingly impressive vocals. Sharing his thoughts on the single, he shares “‘Carousel’ is an attempt at mitigating the anxious, paranoid wreck that lives inside us and wants to spoil everything. A cathartic fuck you to the parading cowards ripping up the rulebook on human decency in front of our eyes and hiding behind their big red buttons”.

‘Carousel’ builds into an exhilarating final chorus, completing the track whilst refreshingly offering a new sound that will simultaneously pull you into a nostalgic decade. It’s no surprise that ELLiS·D has found deserving success, consistently reinventing old rock into his own distinguishable tracks that sound unlike much you’ve heard before.
