Listen: deep tan release debut single ‘Air’

Hackney’s deep tan are a three piece looking to make their mark on 2019. Last year saw the band share the stage with London peers Sons of Raphael, Madonnatron, Claw Marks, Sweat and more. It’s from that list that you can see that deep tan have arrived from the darker corners of London’s small venues.

‘Air’ is the bands debut single, an atmospheric pop song that throws back to early Warpaint although less haunting and with more conviction. The band comment on the subject of the song, saying “‘Air’ is a song about deception. The song is about islanders who lie about being able to swim, and they’re a metaphor for people who lie generally. They pretend they can swim, but they can’t. It’s meaningless. It’s just… ‘Air’.””

You can catch Deep Tan live in London this month at the dates below:

26th January – Label Mates Festival, Paper Dress Vintage, Hackney, London UK
13th April – Shacklewell Arms, Dalston, London UK
