2017 has been kind to Southampton. A new 100 capacity venue called Heartbreakers welcomes the UK’s most exciting small bands, whilst a new record ship called Vinilo hopes to breed a community. With the pathway to The Joiners and beyond now set, the people expect and need local bands. Cue, Mystic Peach. Born in the city, Curtis Gale and co have drawn influence from the good old days where guitar bands were the mainstream and paired it with their mutual love for psychedelia, shoegaze and indie bands. ‘Downtown’ is their debut offering, a track conceived and honed via the bedroom and designed to comfort any “self proclaimed loser”. The single is released via Honeymooner Records and the band join Yowl & Lice on the 19th Oct at Heartbreakers, Southampton.
