Listen: Gently Tender Share New Track ‘Sunlight In Motion’ from Upcoming Debut Album

With a helping hand from the quirky horn solo, vocalist Sam Fryer croons cider-fuelled optimism on Gently Tender’s latest single, ‘Sunlight In Motion’. The track is taken from their forthcoming debut album ‘Take Hold Of Your Promise!’ released 26th August.

After a year or so of widespread solitude, unifying songs such as ‘Sunlight In Motion’ seem to have a little bit more weight, evoking an unspoken and undeniable feeling of being ‘back to normal’. It is because of this, alongside the band’s introspective and mantric lyrics, that you’ll want to put your lighter in the air with a million other souls. Fryer says of the track: ‘[It’s] about when you are suddenly caught in a moment and you feel able to reflect on your life […] being able to observe from the outside.’

‘Sunlight In Motion’ beckons forward the revival of life-affirming Noughties folk-pop, with Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros instrumentation, and a hook replicating the ecstasy which Michael Kiwanuka chorus’s seem to give the listeners of BBC 6 Music. Like seeing your local pub used in a corporate advert, Gently Tender’s latest single makes you realise nothing is sacred, but that wont stop you from enjoying it.
