Goat Girl have poked their head above 2018’s water for the first time with some massive news. The band are to release their debut record ‘Goat Girl’ on April 6th. As expected, the London four piece haven’t done anything in half measures and promise 19 tracks of their typical melodic cynicism. As a band that have broken out of the South London scene, it seems only right that they’ve put their city under scrutiny first and that’s something the girls are open to push

“Simply put, it’s an album that comes from growing up in London and the first-hand experience of our city’s devolution. We wanted to think of it as this place seen not necessarily just through our eyes, but someone who can’t get past the abnormalities and strange happenings that exist in our city. We think this gives the freedom lyrically and musically to explore unspoken truths and emotions that we all as humans feel”

Within these 19 tracks you can find early fan favourites ‘Cracker Drool’ and ‘Country Sleaze’, as well as new one, ‘The Man’ the track which they release today. Whilst lyrically simple, it’s a track which shines a light on their genius for songwriting. The genius however extends also to the video. Produced by the brilliant CC Wade, it takes us to a time in the past which never happened. Police on the beat and four young girls getting The Beatles treatment from blokes who have pulled a sicky from the local yard. It’s the past in reverse, and its exceptional. Video of the year… so far!
