We are very pleased to be involved with Leeds’ Gold Sounds Festival this year. They’ve just announced a bunch of new acts as well as giving the people the day split information they’re craving.
Fat White Family and The Blinders take the headline spots and today’s announcement sees them joined by Queen Zee, W.H. Lung, Pottery, Alex Lahey, Emerson Snowe, Ohtis, Ellis, Harkin and L.D. Moses.
Liverpool Proto-Punks Queen Zee land on the Saturday of Gold Sounds having recently received universal praise for their eponymous debut album with plaudits across the board. Joining the festival line-up on the Sunday will be Leeds-based noise-rockers W.H. Lung, another artist dropping their debut record ahead of Gold Sounds with ‘Incidental’ released on legendary Manchester label Melodic this April.
Another Saturday band added to the line-up are Montreal’s Pottery, a band that recently toured with Parquet Courts and described by Brooklyn Vegan as a cross between Orange Juice and The Undertones. Adding to the international feel of the festival Aussie indie artist Alex Lahey is included in the Sunday line-up following a handful of successful tours in the UK over the last year.
Final additions to Gold Sounds 2019 are cinematic Brisbane indie artist Emerson Snowe (who recently toured with King Krule and Courtney Barnett), Ohtis from LA and Detroit, Ontario solo artist Ellis, Leeds’ own indie-alt troubadour Harkin and regional post-punkers L.D. Moses.
