Listen: Honeyglaze Sign to Fat Possum and Share new Single ‘Don’t’

Cult London Trio, Honeyglaze explore new emotions and sound more refined than ever on the first taste of their sophomore album, ‘Real Deal’.

Two years on from their acclaimed Self-Titled debut, Honeyglaze finally mark their return to release ‘Don’t’ along with the announcement of their second album ‘Real Deal’. Lead singer Anouska Sokolow is coming out swinging with one of the rawest and most personal vocal performances of the year; We hear her voice begin to shake as the track progresses- targeting the actions of every man who has wronged her in the past. Forget Kendrick Lamar or Drake, Honeyglaze have crafted the greatest diss track of them all, as you’re immediately filled with undeniable hatred towards anyone who’s talked down to Honeyglaze.

On the track, Anouska says “Based on my favourite Destiny’s Child song ‘bills, bills, bills’ (which is also a song about being done with waste men), ‘Don’t’ was written after the end of a particularly bad relationship and I had this anger at every man I felt had ever wronged me or spoken down to me. It’s really fun to be aggressive and direct sometimes, especially when it’s unexpected.”

From this first single, It’s clear we’re expecting to see a different form of Honeyglaze, as they have no intent to pull their punches with more direct and personal deliveries. Made with Grammy-nominated producer Claudius Mittendorfer in an isolated studio in the countryside, the band removed themselves from distractions to create the most refined and best possible version of their sound.
