Listen: Island Of Love Sign to Third Man London and Share ‘Songs of Love’

London noisemakers Island Of Love have been announced as the first signing to record label Third Man London, in conjunction with the news of their debut EP ‘Songs of Love’ due March 18th.

This EP will be followed by a physical release in the form of a super-limited edition 7″ landing July 1st. Tapping into grunge nostalgia, Island of Love was initially a bedroom project that has since evolved into something far greater than the foursome ever intended (see The Scoop for all the details). Chatting about the EP, they share: “Songs of Love was a collage of pretty wacky riffs Karim would play as guitar warmups until writing with the full band.”

Their signing to Third Man comes as a result of co-founder and owner Ben Swank catching 30 seconds of their set at a show he had organised. The band are expectedly excited and divulge “To have Third Man show an interest has been a surreal privilege to say the least.”

You can already listen to the lead namesake single ‘Songs of Love’, a scuzzy lament on love lost, which the quartet have been excitedly sharing since its release. If Teenage Fanclub meets late 80s alt-rock sounds up your street, you’d be hard pressed to miss out on Island of Love. Their bright, heady grunge will fill your days with light, and serve as the perfect accompaniment to a post break-up head bang.
