Screaming with confidence and shimmered with the attitude of Violet Beauregarde, the Brighton quartet’s latest release ‘Fever’ comes as a welcome distraction to the end of yet another mentally, physically, spiritually (etc) exhausting week.
Looking on the bright side, everything about LIME sounds snug and fits together gloriously, the background tinkering that buzzes away to complement Chloe Howard’s overarchingly lush vocals. Her aloof delivery is dripping with the kind of conviction we love to see and should actively be promoted. All the while enveloped in indie pop spiced with sax to rival that of 90s legends M People.
Though the current climate doesn’t lend itself to excitement, LIME are something to clasp onto as their energy, confidence and spirit is infectious. And let us not forget that at the hilt of what will be a very long month, a little moody disco goes a long way.
