South London reprobates Honkies are back with a new single, ‘Kicking and Screaming’, that showcases their country-infused punk sound. The song is the first single from an as yet unnamed EP, that will be released via Permanent Creeps Records in the coming months.
Honkies can count Shame and Goat Girl as fans and it’s not hard to see why given the bands’ joyous blend of big beats, woozy synths and disjointed riffs. ‘Kicking and Screaming’ beautifully demonstrates the band’s versatility as the drawled verses give way to the sort of frenzied chorus that is sure to spill a few pints.
The band are fresh from recent high profile support slots including LICE at The Old Blue Last and it’s fair to say that ‘Kicking and Screaming’ is a raucous anthem tailor-made for the sweaty venues of London’s East End.
