Following the release of their EP, ‘Welcome Home’ last year, Liverpool collective Monks have returned with the release of dance-heavy single ‘third location’.
Reworking their sound from previous releases, ‘third location’ enters a techno soundscape, locking you in as the track builds over time. As the bass tightly pulsates towards the end of the track, it’s easy to imagine the song pumping out of speakers in a sweaty room. The only vocals shared throughout are that of the title, leaving you to ponder what new plane of existence the track has taken you to by the end.
Whilst playing this release live Monks have established themselves a must-see act, blurring the lines between DJ set and intimate gig. ‘third location’ is an exciting step forward for Monks in the evolution of their eclectic sound.
