Listen: London Band Little Grandad Share New Single ‘Babe, We’ve Run Out Of Time’

Little Grandad takes you on a journey on ‘Babe, We’ve Run Out Of Time’. The track is driven by an infectious ‘summer’ groove, with twinkly guitar ornaments which transitions into a gentle half-time, math rock-influenced section where you get to experience the intimacy of Little Grandad’s vocalist and guitarist Harry Lower. Lower should be noted for his impeccable voice control, he is able to sing with such delicacy yet can provide rasp and grit when the track calls for it.

The guitar has that signature Americana twang, jangling out chords while also recalling elements of Jazz, which is a testament to Little Grandad’s ability to fuse genres and to sound fresh and original. Harry Lower said “I’d been listening to lots of old French music like Edith Piaf and had become really into trying to write traditional songs. As I started to write the song it became clear it was going to sound nothing like that. ;Babe, We’ve Run Out Of Time’ is the band’s 1940s-inspired indie-rock song.”

Little Grandad are to begin their residency in London tonight at The George Tavern, followed by the Shacklewell Arms tomorrow and the Windmill Friday. They have also just announced a new date for a massive London headline at Scala on 16th September.
