Listen: London Band Tooth Share Debut Single ‘The Age of Innocence’

Bursting at the seams with a wide mix of fuzzy sonics, the debut single from Tooth sets the band up nicely for what is set to be a mammoth year.

Toying with a huge amount of early hype, the London four-piece are nothing short of a force to be reckoned with and ‘Age of Innocence’ is the perfect introduction to the sound of Tooth. With clear inspirations from the slacker-ness of 90’s Rock, married nicely with singer Tom Pollock’s impassioned lead vocals that give the track a grander edge. Instrumentally, Tooth come out swinging with a hard-working drummer whose tech-y part sits comfortably below the brash guitar riff that will find itself doing somersaults around your head after listening. Recorded with Kev Jones (Wunderhorse, Bears Den), Tooth sound as fresh and ambitious as they do in their widely acclaimed live set.

Speaking on the track, Pollock says, “It was written almost as an epilogue for my adolescence. I was almost 18 and could feel this restless and confused teenage chapter of my life slowly coming to a close. I realised how clueless I was as a teenager, but also how much fun I’d had. I think the lyrics reflect that duality and fondly reminisce on a period of life that can’t be experienced again. I think, for all of us, this song felt like the start and the end of something indefinable.”
