Listen: London Based HORNET Announces EP with Glitched Out Single ‘Lost and Found’

London-based, New Jersey-born alt pop riser HORNET announces her new EP ‘Playground Rock’ with this thunderous, glitched out new cut.

Barbed with the spiky weaponry of industrial, clipped-to-the-max percussive textures, and illuminated by HORNET’s woozy vocals that shimmer through the mix like a guiding orb of light, ‘Lost and Found’ delivers an intoxicating knockout punch of manic, brave-faced frenzy. HORNET explains: “Lost and Found is a sad song where I’m taking advantage of the music production to hide what I’m truly feeling. That’s what high school felt like, hiding behind clothes and makeup and parties and drinking, smiling when it hurts”.

The new track draws stylistic parallels to the glitchy, pummelling electronic experimentations of contemporaries like Kassie Krut, whilst orbiting the scrappy-myspace-chic scene that’s been filling up everyone’s Instagram feeds recently (think The Femcels, ideasforconversations or The Sound Chalk Makes).

Serving as the first taster from her upcoming EP ‘Playground Rock’ – set for release on the 30th October – and, bolstered by the uncompromising production of London experimental hip-hop auteur Black Fondu – ‘Lost and Found’ delivers the kind of mighty sting that has you itching at the spot for days.
