After gigging around London for the past year-and-a-half, Domina have finally released their debut single, ‘Apathy’, a short and sweet blend of instrumentals, vocal harmonies and electronic sound.
The vocals are conversational, calling back and forth between each other to describe observations and ask rhetorical questions – “what’s a girl supposed to do?” – the lyrics feel as though they are pondering on the past, trying to make sense of it all. Simple guitar chords go a long way in making the track stand out, allowing the listener to drift in and out of the matter-of-fact lyrics, eagerly waiting for more.
‘Apathy’ is over faster than it began, never overstaying its welcome and succinctly adding to the mystique surrounding Domina.
