Listen: London’s Ebbb Return with New Single ‘Manners’

The first glimpse of new material from London trio Ebbb since last year’s debut EP ‘All At Once’ ‘Manners’ revives their most remarkable qualities and bring them back into 4K focus: a pinging synth hook from the dungeons of rave; angelic melodies that have mastered the power of flight; a ruthlessly captivating rhythmic urgency to lift you out of your seat

But it’s also a track that undeniably brings us a faster, stronger and leaner new edition of the band, an edition that might have just nailed 50 press ups, a 5k run, a cold shower all before 7:30am. Rather than bordering on the experimental and mystifying, ‘Manners’ varnishes itself in the fresh-faced optimism of 80s synth pop to satisfy the sweeter of tongues; there’s genuine instant, ‘sing-a-long’ qualities here, and a chorus that burrows deep into your consciousness.

If ‘Manners’ in any way signposts the future of Ebbb – as we hope it might – then it’s apparent that, rather than pitching itself in the ambiguity of dusk, the trio are set on holding their heads a little higher towards the gentle hope of dawn.
