Listen: London’s Pedestrian Band Share New Single ‘Danang’

Serving up eccentric garage-punk with a nu-metal bent, one of Pedestrian Band’s many charms is how unequivocally ‘rock’ they are. Devil-horn’ing through rancorous feedback intros, yelping male vocals and tongue-in-cheek guitar solos capture the form in all its sweaty, adolescent joys.

But also, there’s something tastefully ‘off’. Ripping through a music that discards the clichés just as skillfully as it draws from them, at one moment new single ‘Danang’ represents a Dirty Pretty Things reborn, and the next it recalls vintage first wave UK punk. And again, the track might zip through a grinding post-hardcore strangeness. It’s a track that builds a comfortable ground beneath your feet then pulls it up from beneath you; takes the familiarities of fuzz-boosated ramalama then banging into a blender

Releasing via ‘on the pulse’ label/promoter Far From Records (do listen to their labelmates Domina too), ‘Danang’ is the latest cut from upcoming EP ‘BAND!’, due 13th November.
