Shaking Hand announce their self-titled debut album and share new single ‘Mantras’ via Melodic Records.
As with summer debut single ‘Over The Coals’, the latest cut from Manchester-based risers Shaking Hand proves them once again as champions of patience, restraint and power. Like watching a flame grow up from the faintest flicker to the fullest forest fire, before gently receding back down again towards tranquility, ‘Mantras’ is an arresting and elemental voyage, satisfying, yet painfully fleeting.
Resembling Ulrika Spacek’s chugging psychedelic-rock, but gutted and hung out to fumigate in the autumnal ghostliness of Yo La Tengo, there’s plenty of emo weightiness here too – or ‘North-west emo’, as the band punningly offer. It’s also one tantalising chapter from the band’s upcoming self-titled debut album – due 16th January on Melodic records.
