Listen: Matt Maltese Shares New Track ‘Mystery’

Falling in love, falling out of love, and every heart wrenching twist and turn in between. An inherent desire of human nature, that’s left centuries of hopeless romantics stumped. Trying to make sense of it all, London crooner Matt Maltese tackles this crazy little thing called love on his latest humdinger, ‘Mystery’.

Not one to shy away from getting it all out in the open, melodious keys will be sure to dust off the cobwebs of any forgotten heartstrings. A leftfield answer to the humble pop ballad, harmonious strings flourish around Maltese’s hazy vocals. Making grown up sense of whimsical musings, the track is the perfect accompaniment to any stare-out-of-the-window-and-wonder-just-why-the-heck-I-am-not-over-you moments.

Taking a leaf out of Twin Peaks’ books, the accompanying music video is a welcome slice of indie celluloid indulgence. Riding on the back of a motorcycle, through cascading forests and flickering in the sunlight, the visual montage is sure to appeal to the imagination of any alternative fantasist. Topped off with fields of gold and subtle sepia undertones, you’ll be charmed from start to finish.

Slightly off-kilter in all the right places, Maltese’s latest offering is a safe space to ponder life’s greatest sensibilities. He may not have the answer. Maybe no one does…but it will probably be wiser to listen to ‘Mystery’ than leave a drunken voicemail on your ex’s phone when the topic of ‘love’ next crops up.
