Listen: Omni Share New Single ‘Exacto’ and Announce New Album via Sub Pop

Omni have released new single, ‘Exacto’, the lead off of their newly announced album, ‘Souvenir’. The album is due for release on February 16th 2024 via Sub Pop.

Choppy and rigid, ‘Exacto’ boasts a stiff-necked riff and a jolting rhythm section, one that builds an unrelenting drive at the core of the track. The band shared, “[the] lyrics and melody were written in the back of a van in Sacramento, thinking of being left on the shelf, imagining the odd things people do for attention from people they love and strangers alike”. The official video for the single was directed by Zach Pyles, with the concept also developed by himself alongside the band’s own Frankie Broyles and Chris Yonker. The video sits in the world of the surreal, with the band being shown on a TV that is eventually smashed, footage that was captured by actually dropping the TV from a 10-story parking lot.

Of the forthcoming album, the title Souvenir is reportedly pulled from the band’s ability to capture a specific moment in time, and therefore, consider each track as its own individual entity. With ‘Exacto’ introducing this collection of standalones, what can be expected from this being their fourth record, is range.
