With the announcement of their signing to PNKSLM and before heading out on a UK tour with Drahla, Sleep Eaters have unveiled the first taste of their new EP in the glaring and perceptive ‘Don’t Sell Your Soul’.
The single marries a hearty balance of rich, comfortingly worn rhythms and dashes of cutting exuberance – crafting something unified and unsuspectingly poetic. The narrative they conjure simmers in much the same way, even more laconic than their early, more brazen moments yet exhibiting a group capable of possessing vulnerability in a rush of agitation . Guitars ring as Glenn Wild nonchalantly admits “I’ve been crucified my whole life, I’m dancing with the dead again, just to feel alive” – painting a picture of oppression and anarchy whether personal or literal.
