Tapir! Have revived their single ‘My God’ with the release of its music video, alongside details of their awaited debut album – ‘The Pilgrim, Their God, and the King of My Decrepit Mountain’.
Today, the South-London based, mammal inspired, folk- extraordinaires have announced details of their debut album – ‘The Pilgrim, Their God, and the King of My Decrepit Mountain’ – out Friday 26th January 2024 via Heavenly Recordings. This news comes along with the video for their renewed and beloved track, ‘My God’.
Directed by Los Angeles based artist collective, Everything Is Terrible, the newly released music video for ‘My God’ is a surreal and endearing claymation tale of strange creatures and giant egg deities – a wonderfully obscure fantasy world where the biggest threat is the impending broken yolk.
‘The Pilgrim, Their God, and the King of My Decrepit Mountain’ follows years of development since Tapir!’s inception, during which they found themselves playing, sharing, and learning in cherished London venues such as The George Tavern. Having teamed up with Honeyglaze’s Yuri Shibuichi, the resulting debut promises to be nothing short of a break from the modern world. Taking you out of what you know and suspending you above a captivating fairytale landscape, just close enough to catch the lessons of the fable.
