Burnley five-piece, The Goa Express, release a musical cocktail of feel-good frenzies and reminiscent summer memories in their latest punk-infused track.
As we return to that time of year again, when that craved warmer weather is lingering in the air, the first thing on anybody’s mind is a well-deserved break, “You need a holiday”. There’s a certain vulnerability inside as James Douglas Clarke sings about the claustrophobia caused by being trapped in the grind, day in and day out, but instead, the charming melody serves as a kind of hope for summer 2023.
Although we can hear a minimalistic beat to the song, ‘Good Luck Charm’ champions that soaring chorus and catchy rhythm, inducing you to want to sing along at the top of your lungs. There’s a relatable element of feeling down on your luck, like a tune that shares a piece with everyone, and all of a sudden you find the melody is stuck in your head after the first listen.
βSometimes, you end up feeling down on your luck and then all a sudden you make the call to get the hell out of somewhere,β The Goa Express say of the track. βAnd, out of nowhere, you meet someone and you end up getting lucky again.β
