UGLY present a lockdown edition video for previously released track, ‘Blister’.
As far as isolation filmed videos go, this one’s surely one of the breeziest. Trailing more lived-in charisma than linen curtains, pastel pink bathroom furniture and, framed Klimt on whitewash walls in late-spring, if you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like to live with some charming young creatives, this isn’t quite the same thing… but at least you’re getting a general overview.
If home is where the heart is and currently, our sensitivities are at peak lonesome… here you’re looking into an open-plan dolls house complete with solidarity, angled panelling and a rooftop fit for freestyling. A hypothetical base for reunion where concepts have been replaced with the real deal all of whom look, by way of some super fine editing, like they could be in the same digs and yet, circumstance (and the entire point of this video) predicts they’re not.
In just over four-minutes, ‘Blister’ has proven a timely way of bringing fans and band a-like together in the same place, at the same time from our own personal Voyeur Stream and honestly, what’s not to like about that?
There’s also a nice little sequence at the end with some hand dancing- an undeniably satisfying watch and practical use of a kitchen window space.
To coincide with the video UGLY have announced a line of one of a kind vests. Hand printed by guitarist Harrison Jones, a quarter of profits will be going towards Muscular Dystrophy UK. You can find them here.
If you can’t entertain the hours with Ugly brandished across your chest then, what can you do to be honest.
The new issue of So Young is out now. It’s SOLD OUT in print but you can read the digital edition below.
