Watch: South Coast funksters Barbudo become gangsters in video for track ‘SXC’

Local communities are producing bands across the country and that includes the south coast. If you’re local to Portsmouth you’ll have seen the name Barbudo on many a show poster. Having gigs with Superfood and The Big Moon already under their belts, It seems that the band have gotten off to a flier. Guitar music has always been a staple part of life in Southsea, Portsmouth but Barbudo have grown into something more than a guitar band. Carrying soul, funk and groove, the five piece (centred around the Stanworth brothers) are aiming for that indie pop gem that can take them around the country. ‘SXC’ comes from their EP ‘Pleasures’ and grasps all of the above. You could liken it somewhat to the recent styles of the band, Childhood, but beyond that you’d have to go way way back to find something nearly as genuine. Today they share the video for the track in which they become small time gangsters in a Wimpy burger. Check it out below!
