Listen: Wunderhorse Return with New Single ‘Midas’

With a busy summer on the horizon, Wunderhorse launch into new music with the much awaited new single, ‘Midas’

Clocking in at just over two minutes, ‘Midas’ is Wunderhorse’s punchiest release to date, and yet the band manage to fit in numerous new ideas and perfectly display the direction of their new material. Frontman Jacob Slater comes out swinging with a mighty delivery which is achieved through a rough guitar that rips through the track, a drum loop tying the track together via drummer Jamie Staples, and Slater’s anecdotal lyrics are packed with sibilance and technique, all the while being immensely comedic.

Currently touring with Declan Mckenna, Wunderhorse are preparing for another busy summer with many major festival slots including Reading + Leeds, Boardmasters and TRNSMT, as well as making their festival headline debut at Dot to Dot Festival. With more new music anticipated, Wunderhorse’s spectacular rise doesn’t seem to be halting anytime soon.

On the track, frontman Jacob Slater says “The song was written in a bathtub in Paris, and forgotten about until it resurfaced in Minnesota. Midas is the guy who makes you feel like a pencil stub, all used up and nothing to show for it, but it’s always just business as far as he’s concerned”
